PARENT ACTION NETWORK HOUSTON
Amplifying Parent Voice in Public Education.
about us
What is the Parent Action Network?
The Parent Action Network (PAN) is a movement where we inform, empower, and uplift parent voices to challenge the status quo and demand great public schools. By supporting parents in their advocacy, PAN is helping build a brighter future for all students in Houston’s public schools.
What We Do
PAN amplifies parents’ voices on critical issues such as resource equity, student achievement, and safe, inclusive environments. We help parents understand key policies and ensure their voices are heard by connecting with school leaders, organizing events, advocating for policy changes, and leading campaigns that address the unique needs of Houston students. Through grassroots efforts, strategic partnerships, and community engagement, PAN parents are at the forefront of public education in Houston.
The Parent Advocacy Institute
The Parent Advocacy Institute is a paid, 16-week leadership development program designed to equip parents and caregivers with the skills and knowledge needed to advocate effectively for their children’s education. This immersive program provides participants with in-depth training on advocacy strategies, insights into local and state-level policy, and opportunities to collaborate on real-world advocacy initiatives. By sharing personal experiences and actively engaging in the policymaking process, our parent advocates will gain the tools and confidence to drive positive change for students and communities.
